And the iPhone dropped in price. Once they make that sucker 16gb I'll buy one. I'm so glad I didn't buy one when they came out. 10 weeks and a $200 price drop. lol

Looks like they nixed the 4Gb iPhone as well. Probably to make room for the larger capacity phones when they come out and keep the line lean and mean.

I second the comment about not buying this technology the day it becomes available.

My dad teases me for being an early adopter instead of an innovator, but it always pays off money-wise and feature-wise when I hold off six months or more.

Mine just died recently after owning it for 2 years. I am shipping it out to Microsoft tomorrow for repair. It was the strangest thing, I was on vacation for 2weeks, came back and bang 3 flashing lights.

I should have bought the Premium, I won't get close to filling the HD on the Elite. I got Elite because of HDMI, before I read that one can't tell the difference between HDMI and HD composite. *shrug* but the black looks better in my entertainment center. ;)

I got my first iPod a few months ago, a 30 gig unit and got adaptors put in my Boxster and other family cars. I quickly realized I could use more memory (I have several thousand CD's). The problem was, it was hard to get the first one with the family budget, then two events in the universe came together.

Apple dropped the price of the 80 gig iPod to 250.00 and Cyndy had a birthday that same week! Guess who got a "like new" 30 gig ipod for her birthday present loaded with all the music she likes, and I now have close to 9,000 songs on my new 80 gig unit....

you should see the new Nanos up close. Really outstanding what Apple has done, its about the size of large book of matches and not much thicker. Surprised they didn't fasten it to a Dick Tracy watch strap. My Apple store was spilling out and they had to kick every one out at 6pm.

re Iphone, I stopped by the AT$T store and asked what the charge was if you went over your alloted 200 text messages included in the basic Iphone plan.
Turns out you will get whacked 20 cents for each text message, either inbound or outgoing. Getting unlimited texting will set you back another $40 clams, or $80 total with unlimited internet and calls. And that's not including all dem taxes.
And yeah Apple gets a nice chunk of that. They just closed the Vodafone contract and apparently Apple have taken them to the cleaners. The non-3G UK Iphone will be out in less than two months. Apple is just a big cash machine right now.

and of course Nokia is turning into a better and better bargain with Apple stealing all the stock buying attention. Even at a 52 week high its still a bargain

I just went in on my gf's and fathers family plan, we divide the monthly charges in half and i pay 10 bucks for 1500 text messages, MUCH MUCH cheaper that way.

I believe we got the $120 family plan with 2100 minutes, unlimited nite and weekends and rollover minutes.

Between all of us, we pay $40 bucks each before taxes, not counting our individual text message plan rate. In my case, I pay $50 a month counting my text messaging plan before taxes and fees.

Update: Talked to my GF, turns out we have a 3000 minute plan between the 3 of us for $160 bucks, That means i pay $63 a month counting my text messaging plan before taxes and fees.
