Bought a new suit today for some fall events. Ralph Lauren, very dark brown with pleated pants, single-breasted 3 button. I have to take it to the tailor this week and the question is do I go with Cuffs or no Cuffs??

Normally I go with no cuffs on flat front pants and cuffs on pleated. What is the current trend for all of you suit wearing individuals? I am 5'11" 170lb.

Thanks!

I think cuffs are classic. And the pants lay better at the botton, accross your shoes, with the added weight from the fabric.

You can always take the cuffs out. Ya can't add them, if ya don't got em.

I good tailer will adjust the size of the cuff based on current trends, suit style, fabric, and your height.

What are guys wearing in GQ? Letterman has cuffs. But he does wear white socks. Why is that?

Letterman also wears double breasted jackets unbuttoned.

I say cuffs. Like Bill says, cuffs are classic. Cuffs and pleats for a business suit and you'll never go wrong. I tend to leave the flat front, straight leg pants, collarless jackets, euro shoulders and all that crap to the kids. A year from now, they won't be caught dead wearing that stuff, but you'll still be looking sharp in your classically tailored Lauren suit.

I'd definitely cuff the pants since it is a suit.....I have slacks with no cuffs...but they are just slacks....suits I go with cuffs...the fact ou went 3 button is stylish enough.....finish it off nicely, cuffs with a full break

Can't tell you what's in style now because Mutual of Omaha went Business Casual 4 yrs ago.

Prior to that I had a noose around my neck for 20 yrs.

But if I had a vote, it would be cuffs for all the reasons listed in the previous posts.

Had a wee chuckle to myself while reading this thread, wondering what it was all about...

In Scotland (and the rest of the UK for that matter) we call them "turn-ups" and "cuffs" are what's found at the bottom of your shirt sleeve lol.

So with that being said...I would have to say, go with the turn-ups/cuffs! :D

Cheers, Gord.
