View Full Version : Stopped by the cops (again)
Speeding again...7th time in the last 11 months. But somehow I managed to talk myself out of a ticket again. Out of those 7 times I wound up with only one ticket that I could not beat but I went to online traffic school so my license is still clean and my insurance company cannot hold it against me.
So what's the point of this thread? Beats me, I guess I just had to share with someone other than my wife, who just shakes her head.
:shakes head: :p
Your luck is bound to run out, time to slow down on the street or get a V1!

yeah buy a v1
I had one in a past Viper but I totaled it (the Viper that is) - when the new Boxster S gets here I plan to get another.

Bob, you are going to attract a lot more police attention in the Boxster. I think you also suffer from giganticcalfitus!!! A well know disease. I will post a photo later today, from my other computer.

Bob, here is your problem, and a V1 will not help you:
Bmussatti---REALLY NOT sure I want to delve further into this (better judgment screams to me "NO!"), but WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???

Frodo my friend, that is a highly developed calf muscle. Built that way from expensive & prolonged pressure on the far right pedal. Or a little cream from Barry Bonds.
Soon as I opened this thread the 2nd time it was, low and behold, utterly obvious to me. First time, don't know why but it looked like some sort of weird, deformed, grotesque sexual organ aberration thing to me. Disgusted, I was compelled to quickly Log Out without further consideration of the image. Guess I just had a hard day...
Wait a minute...Isn't that a LEFT foot??
Wait a minute...Isn't that a LEFT foot??
Oh my God, it is!!! The Giganticcalfitus has migrated!!!

Yeah dude get a V1 before you end up pissing off a Cop having a bad day.
I don't know why Sports cars don't come with one built in like an in dash radio.
ok they are illegal in Virginia and Canada but you know what I mean.

Man I just got pulled over tonight too.... though sadly, I wasn't as lucky as you to get out of the ticket...
I guess I should let you all in on my secret - I work for the FL National Guard and always work that in when I get stopped...most of the cops down here are either in the Guard or have been in the military - I was in the Navy long ago as well.
As others have said, your luck is bound to run out. Seven times in less than a year is absolutely ridiculous. Invest in some radar [lidar protection wouldn't hurt either].

bmussatti, is right. In all my twelve years of driving ( yeah I'm young wanna make something of it.) :D I have never once gotten a speeding ticket. But soon as I got the Boxster, sure enough got my first ticket ever no more than a month of owning it. Was actually kind of proud. The Cop was actually kind of nice about it. I was doing 65mph in a 35 zone. He wrote down that I was only doing 10 over(45). So no hard feelings towards him, but I am a little more careful on that right foot when its Boxster time. :D

Trust me all, I know. However, I have owned 6 Vipers, a couple Vettes, a 911 Turbo, motorcycles, and numerous other muscle cars - I have never been stopped in any of those (well one stop on a bike for no eye protection) - just the daily drivers!
But I agree that the upcoming Red Boxster S will attract attention and since the cops down here are very aggressive I will have to keep both eyes open.
Make that 8 times, in 12 months...stopped for running a red light this morning. But I made a strong case that it was a split-second decision and threw dance in a little song & dance  - he let me go without a ticket.
And the new Boxster S is not even here yet...at least I'll soon have a different car/one that they don't recognize.

Why don't you grow up and drive correctly. The track is for you aggressive tendencies, not the street.
Grow up? I may be 44 but I will never drive like the old farts in my area, who drive 5-10 below the limit. As far as I'm concerned it would not have been as safe to slam on the brakes just because the light turned yellow.
There was supposed to be some humor here - others post stuff like this and this is the forum for it. So save the advice for your kids.
For what it is worth, I have owned and driven lots of different sports cars over the years on numerous tracks and events and consider my skills to be above average at the very least. And I consider most of the police stops to be nothing more than bad luck and/or being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I think it is entertaining to read about other's experiences; however, there is usually someone chiming in on their high horse trying to play big brother....lighten up.

Obviously, self-awareness is not one of your strong suits.
:D
You know, all the guys in prision are innocent too!

Bob, I gotta believe you will get less "free passes" in the Porsche. I don't know why, just a hunch. I think the Porsche name plate will just envoke a stronger bias/opinion/feeling from law enforcement.
Be careful. You don't want to muck-up your ownership experience and Boxster honeymoon.
