Who saw the movie and what did you think about it, imho i thought it sucked, , oh btw, he should have been driving a boxster not some Gt500 :D
I saw the movie, Loved it. I do like Will Smith a lot. Porsche should have stepped up and dumped some cash into the movie and then maybe that is what he would have been driving. I am not a tough critic so don't go by me, but I think it was a great movie. By the way I am on the hunt for a 3.4 and a 6 speed tranny if anyone has any ideas.. :)

To be honest,if I had a choice I wouldn't put a 6-spd on a Boxster. The last couple of gears on the 6-spd are too tall for a Boxster unless you have 300+ lbs. of torque.
I do not plan on seeing the movie - saw the Charlton Heston version

JAAY, your mailbox is full.
I didn't want to hijack this thread but wondered if you would PM me as to why you're wanting to upgrade to a 3.4 when you've got the SC kit.
I just told the wife I wanted to see I am Legend because I enjoy Will Smith movies as well. He's got a great sense of humor.

I want to see Legend too. Are there any other good must-see movies in December?

Legend gross over $76M for the weekend. This is a record for December movie openings. And this further solidifies Will Smith's credentials.

Let's put together a Box roadtrip to go see Legend, preferably someplace warm, at a drive in. Get your car out of storage, Bill.

My brother saw it and said it sucked. I won't post any spoilers, but there is one particular reason why I'll pass on seeing it too that he mentioned.

What's your reason as to why you'll pass on seeing it? Some peoople have already posted how it sucked and such, might as well post why.

well, it'd be a spoiler, so not sure everyone would want me to post it? And it's maybe not something major to anyone else, but I'm a dog lover, and had to do with the dog. So that combined the fact that he just flat said it sucked, I'll pass.

I haven't even seen the movie and I can already tell just from the previews that the dog gets killed. I still want to see it. There I said it. People, it's just a movie. Not real, the dog is STILL ALIVE today! Geesh! :p

Granted, I have not seen the movie either, but in addition to this dog meeting his maker, don’t large numbers of PEOPLE also die in the film?
Millions of people dying = entertainment
Dog dying = this movie has gone too far
???

Hehe... I wondered if anyone was going to say it. Preach on.
Too many people confuse the stuff that comes out of Hollywood with reality. It's fiction, including the M. Moore and Algore stuff. It's done for one reason... $$$$

So you're saying something is amiss?
I am paid to kill people, but I would never hurt a dog.
I liked LEGEND...it was entertaining the whole way through...I think it's best going into a movie not expecting anything great and you'll come out of the theater going "yeah, not bad."....you can do the same for GONE BABY GONE with Casey Affleck.
I am paid to kill people, but I would never hurt a dog.
Even if said dog was large, attacking your wife, and going for her neck?

I don't mind seeing people get killed, but not dogs. And I know it's not real, but I still don't want to see it!

I am not sure that this is a fair comparison. Not to be presumptuous about your job or anything, but I am assuming that your potential targets, although people, are not innocent, and you are comparing this to a pet – completely innocent and wonderful. In this case, of course you would prefer to shoot a terrorist or violent criminal over man’s best friend any day. This makes sense.
I think a better comparison would be a group of children. I would imagine (would hope) you would be less likely to kill one of them than a dog given a choice.
In this movie, there are lots of innocent victims: moms, dads, children, brothers, sisters, etc. I just find it surprising that people could be utterly disturbed by the image of a dog meeting its end but more than fine with enjoying a movie where large numbers of families meet an untimely end.

I don't want to see people die either, but it bothers me more when it's a dog because they are such innocent loving creatures. I've had a lot of people treat me like crap in my lifetime, but never a dog.
Overall, I guess I just like movies with happy endings where the people who die are bad and the ones who live are good and no dogs die. Doesn't sound like this movie is one of those, so I'll pass.
Yeah Doc, I know. I was really, really stretching, trying to be silly.
For the record, I've never killed people. I just train to kill people. Once, I should have killed people, but they shot me first. Bastards.

Speaking of dogs and happy endings, anyone remember the cult sci fi classic "A Boy and His Dog" from back in the mid to late 70s?
Last year when I got bit by a pit bull when I was riding my bike, I didn't want to shoot the dog, but I wanted to cap the owner for being so f'ing stupid. It's the dog's nature, after all.
In the local news is a story about some guy that, at 3am, goes out into the yard and beats his pit bull to death with a baseball bat, then when his wife comes out to try to stop him, he punches her in the face a few times. A couple of hours later she calls 911, and they arrest the guy.
Turns out he has 14 pit bulls, one of them broke it's chain and killed another, and he was killing the dog that broke loose. She's now calling for his release.
Too bad the dog didn't turn the tables and take out the owners. We need the gene pool cleansed a bit.

The range of human behavior boggles the mind.
Mother Teresa to Adolph Hitler.
Go figure.
