ATLANTA- Porsche Cars North America Inc. on Tuesday said June sales in the U.S. declined on lower volumes of its most popular sports cars, the Boxster, Cayman and 911.
Sales fell 3.5 percent to 2,650 from 3,267 in June last year.
Porsche's Boxster and Cayman models saw weaker volume in June, with 789 vehicles sold compared with 900 in the same month a year ago. The 911 line of sports cars, including the Carrera and Cabriolet, posted sales volume of 715, down from 1,180.
Adjusting for three fewer days last month compared with June 2007, sales fell 8.8 percent.
So far this year, Porsche has sold 15,086 vehicles in the U.S., compared with 17,859 in the same period last year. Adjusting for one additional selling day so far this year compared with the first six months of last year, sales on a year-to-date basis are off nearly 15 percent.
