Hey, I am driving from Houston TX to Gilroy CA at the end of July to the garlic festival.

Any of you San Franscisco, San Jose or nearby folks want to meet up the first day of the festival at a nearby location if I find one?

We're staying at a bed and breakfast in Gilroy and I bet we could meet there.

I would imagine that loving garlic would not be required to hang out with other Boxster owners, but it sure wouldn't hurt if your breath was as bad as mine that day!

Post any interest here. We're not able to be there on Saturday, but I'd love to see who might be able to take Friday the 29th of July off and drive in from wherever you live... drinking a beer with you all face to face and seeing your car would be sweet!

I've been to the Garlic Festival once. That was enough for me. July is quite a bit away but maybe we could arrange a drive up Skyline Blvd or down Hwy 1 or maybe Tool Pants will have one of his 'work on cars' day going on or something. I'm not one to plan ahead more than a week. :D You should ping the board again when it's closer to the date you'll be out here.

Hey, I'm halfway to the Garlic Festival with the wife in the Boxster!

First day was short. Drove from Houston to New Braunfels, just north of San Antonio. 3 hrs.
Second day was a bit longer, from San Antonio to Ft. Stockton. 5 hrs.
Third day was Ft. Stockton to Las Cruces. 5.5 Hrs.
Today was the fourth day, Las Cruces to Yuma, AZ. A very long day...9 hours incl. about 45 minutes for a lunch stop. Ugh!

Thus far, we've logged about 1900 miles on my 1997 boxster. All those repairs made this last year were surely appreciated!

Tomorrow we finally get to drive into California and head to Oceanside, just north of San Diego. I have a buddy whose vacationing there and we'll hang out overnight. Every hotel or motel we've stayed in has free high speed internet... which is nice to keep up with work emails I can't avoid, even while on vacation.
