I believe the release date of the Cayenne is March 15th. Let's try to get an objective opinion poll here...

From what I have read, VW will introduce or has done so already it suv as well. which is jst like the Porsche. These should have been radically different to set them aside. http://www.vanagon.com/info/news/vw-porsche-suv.html

One of the first things I did in Germany (December 2002) was to stop by the local VW dealer where my cousins live, to check out the VW SUV (the Touareg). I really liked it a lot, better in fact than the looks of the Cayenne. Saw a Cayenne too over there. This picture was taken on our first day there, jet lag in full effect as you can see by the way I look there. The car to the left is the VW Polo, which gets 95 MPG.

As for the Cayenne, I think they plan to build 25,000 a year, but have 100,000 that have indicated they want one. It will sell well I think.

Charlie: Might I suggest that we arrange an impromptu get together at IRA, Herb Chambers or some other convenient dealership to view, critique, drive and otherwise inspect and discuss the Cayenne in early or late March? If anyone is interested, I will make the calls and try to arrange a group session with a dealership. Given that it's March and the dealerships are probably slow maybe they will give us a good time. Just a thought.

That sounds like a good idea. It's going to be a loooooong winter and we could use the diversion! If anyone else is interested, please post below so we can make sure we have a decent-sized group.
