Do any of you use voice recognition software, particularly in composing emails and daily business? If so, what are you using, do you find it efficient and are you satisfied?

I have used "NaturallySpeaking" in the past and it was pretty good, you just have to train the software with your voice a few times, but if you have outside interference when you talk and not when you trained the application it will get confused. best for an office with a door. http://www.nuance.com/ about $100.00.

But Microsoft has it included within XP Office for free and I like it better than the other. But of course VRS always has some "problems" see for yourself http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1123221217782777472

In either case you need a good "Powered" microphone, USB headset w/ Mic would be best.

Well i'm a dealer for Nuance, Dragon Naturally Speaking, voice recognition software. I am certified to train and sell. We are now at a version 9 which they say is 99% accuracy. I personally still find it hard for new users to be complety satisfied. You do have to spend some time with the program, and in time it can have 99% accuracy.

It does work with writing emails fairly good, and doing business. the best is to get a digital recorder and the voice recognition software. dictate into the recorder and hook it up to the computer, and dragon converts the voice file into text....works really good. then send it to the secretary to edit or edit yourself.

Thanks for your reply.

1. Between the digital recorder and your software, how much are we talking.
2. How much time does the average user need to "train" to become 99% accurate?
3. Is your voice recognition ware available in other languages? Specifically German.

1. Between the digital recorder and your software, how much are we talking. here is an approx price. $250 for a digital recorder and $200 for voice recognition dragon preferred.

2. How much time does the average user need to "train" to become 99% accurate? This depends on how regularly you use the program. How many files do you have on your computer for it to learn from. If used everyday i would say a couple of weeks.

3. Is your voice recognition ware available in other languages? Specifically German Yes it is available in german.
