On Craigslist their selling Playstation 3 for $3000 !! Retail value is only $650 USD.

Kids were camping for 2 days to get first bids. In fact some goof was on the evening news because he went to Japan to buy it !
Another sad story- in Houston people who were lining up at 3am and were mug by two mask teens and one person who refuse to give in got shot!

Early this morning a local video game store was robbed at gunpoint for 3 PS3s....Idiots.

I looked on eBay last night and this morning,they range anywhere from $1.5k for the system-$11k for an entire package(games,extra controllers and so on).

why would you pay $3000 for a playstation 3. just buy a computer, and i'm sure you can get all those games. i now play games on my computer. i have a wireless controller, that looks exactly like the playstation. I play on my laptop NHL 07 and it's amazing. just as good as any gaming system that i've ever owned. i've owned every gaming system on the market and played pretty much every game out there.

better yet, wait a week and the store will be stocked with more and you will be able to buy it for $599.00. Not like playstation has ever been in low supply, that you can't get one.

my friend bought one this morning, been waiting for days, and its already sold on ebay for 2 grand.
i woulda done it too, but my sinuses are fcked up so yea

It helps owning a Toy Store :D . I had mine almost a week ago. Personally I think the people camping outside for one are just nuts, there going to be flooding the market in the next 4-6months, just like every other system that has ever had such a huge release.

We saw the reports of the campers here in Houston. Makes sense that the thugs here watched the news too, figured a handful of them had $650 cash on them and put two and two together. I don't know why I didn't think about it. If I hadn't been headed to the airport to get up here to Ohio, I might have hit a couple of stores myself!

How else am I gonna afford the SC kit I am about to fall in love with day after tomorrow with OhioBoxster?

the best part is that each store has what 20 or so and the line is of 100 peeps.

take a look at ebay...$25,000 for a video game system.....never has a gaming system been so high in demand.

that things almost worth as much as my porsche n it doesn't even go up in price once opened. i mean in 2 months it's only gonna be worth $400.00 n in 3 months $350.00 and so on.

yea well we all know it will go down, but someones gotta make money, and theres idiots out there that will pay such ridiculous money on a freaking gaming system.

Hahaha,the only system I have is a Sega Dreamcast w/ Crazy Taxi & Virtua Tennis.

TriGEm, you're young, but do the others out there remember the dreaded Cabbage Patch DOlls? That was a riot. I think the demand for them far exceeded these PS3s because they were cheaper.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons I got the XBox360 last Spring - it will be a little while before I can walk into Target or Best Buy and pick up a new PS3. Until then, I will just make do...
