A month ago, I sent Dish Network Customer Feedback an email recommending that in future releases of their DVR's they install 6 tuners so I can customize the interactive screen and decide which 6 channels I wish to monitor simultaneously.

[I thought that was a pretty good idea, but they didn't think so and told me it was not technologically possible at this time. Truth be told, they can't charge the channel owners big bucks to be on that interactive channel if I get to choose the channels.]

Anyway, I then get a phone call from a Dish Network person in the PR department asking me if I'd talk with a NY Times reporter about my experiences, good or bad, with Dish's interactive bits and pieces. Knowing publicity is good for me as an author and my organization, I jumped at the opportunity.

My name appears on page 5 of this document if you don't care to read the whole thing.

It's fun to see your name in the newspaper, especially when it has nothing to do with a scandal!

It's fun to see your name in the newspaper, especially when it has nothing to do with a scandal!

So you're usually involved in publicized scandals when in the paper? :D

wow...I didn't know :) It's cool to know that you do what you do :cool: I myself too are similar to what you're doing except it 's mainly from Jr. High to College group. planning a year round activities, retreats, cafe nite's and small group bible study for about 7 years. i took a break this year from it but I'm doing a Parenting Bible study and involved in Young Couple group...ooops, don't mean to jack the thread, got excited :o

But, yah, dude...very cool :D

I love dish network's DVR too!!! I thought TIVO had sued them over the DVR didn't they?

also -- I know where to punch in the zip codes to get weather -- but I didn't know they had doppler radar -- of course I haven't look at this in a while....I'll have to check it out again I usually use the net.
