After about 2 weeks of planning, the whole thing apparently worked out – have a due date scheduled for July 11. Since my wife and I are both auditors, I am sure the baby will be born precisely on time.

Also, so no one panics, we are NOT getting rid of the 987. The wife’s Toyota will do just fine, but I am trying to figure out some way to convince her we need to trade it for a Cayenne. Your input on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats, Dr. Kill to you and your wife

So both of you are auditors? deng, I wonder what's the dinner like...hehehehehe! j/k

IMHO...Cayennes is over kill unless you have spare money to spend. If you want speed and comfort, get the Infinity FX45

Hey Marc!!

Our first is also due on April 28!!! What a coincidence.

Now, on to the Cayenne, unless you get the Cayenne S, it's not worth it. You might as well go with the VW Tourag. Don't get me wrong - - the base Cayenne is safe and well engineered, but sloooooowwww and underpowered as heck. With the Cayenne S, it's hard to justify 60K+ for a SUV, even if it is a porsche and the fact that 2008 will be the facelift year.

Now you know what to do as a Porsche owner, buy the Porsche Babyseat.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone

We are both very happy about it – it didn’t really hit me though until we were at the doctor’s office and saw the baby’s heart beating. Going to be parents – gulp…

Marc, where are you at? We are over in Dover – Morris County. Since you are going to go through everything I will but just a few months before, I would appreciate your feedback on the situation - I appreciate you blazing the trail for others to follow!

Congratulations and best of luck to you.

Now about that Cayenne... Not only do I think you need it, I think you'll need the Turbo.

Babies come with stuff. Lots of stuff. Cribs, carseats, strollers, walkers, bottles, diaperbags, etc, etc, etc. O.K., so now we agree you need the extra room that only the Cayenne can provide. But why the Turbo you ask? Well, babies get sick and you'll want to get them right over to the family doctor...fast. Babies run out of formula and it makes them scream, so you'll need to get a refill...fast. Babies go through diapers; a lot of diapers, and you'll want more...fast. So you see my friend, it's not about you; it's all about your precious little bundle of joy. After all, you would do anything for your family, wouldn't you?

Thanks for your help. I have shared your argument with my wife. I don't think we are quite there yet, but every little bit helps. Also, I am thinking that if I argue for a Turbo, we can "compromise" and just get the S instead - then it will appear that I am being reasonable about the whole thing. But like you said, it's all about the baby.

WOW, Grizz! I didn't know you could justify buying a Turbo with the Baby on it's way and by putting two and two together, it makes a lot of sense..hehehehehe It makes me want to have one more child to justify buying my 993 Turbo :D :D :D

*will let you know if the justification works

I recently purchased an FX 45. The Box spoiled me and I could not drive my tank of a Sequoia anymore. The choice came down to a CayenneS or FX. I drove the two back to back in a period of two hours and the decision was easy. (Cheaper too). Unfortunately, the FX does not have the room the Cayenne has,as Grizzly mentioned. Shoulda seen my wife after we stuck my daughter's stroller in the back!

BTW, congrats to the expecting fathers! We're expecting number two on April 25!
