Rear foglight question...

Depending which direction you are facing... On the Boxster, the left side rear foglight is US while the right side is Europe.

I opened the right side rear light unit and found that their is a spot for the foglight. However when I put in the lightbulb and turned on the rear foglight, only the left side came on.

Is the right side not wired for foglight?

Hehe, yeah I saw the same thing when I replaced my lighting assembly with the clear rear lamps. yeah unless it is wired by the factory there is that one missing. I have found it is normal depending on where you buy your car from.

My guess is to get the wiring diagrams for the left one. THen look at the right one and find out what's missing (assuming both sides are/can be wired the same way). Or get the wiring diagrams of the European version.

The right side bulb socket does have a wire to it but there is no power. We run a jumper wire from the left side to the right if you want both bulbs to come on. Same on a 996.

From the picture that you posted, I'm not sure where to start and end the connection. Also what is the best way to get the wire to the other side?

Thanks in advance!

The connector to each bulb holder has a a gray wire with a white stripe. You run a jumper between these 2 wires. You could use a wire tap. You hide the jumper wire behind the trunk carpet near the latch.
