Post GT3 Console Delete Pictures

I'm going to be filling in this thread shortly. For now, here is a picture of all the "deleted" stuff you don't use after installation.

Close up. Very clean and stock looking. Note I'm still waiting for delivery on a small plastic piece which will go right in front of the shifter to fill in the hole.

The big picture. Gives the cabin a new open feeling!

I forget to mention...a trim piece has also been ordered to go around the climate control box. You can see the white areas around the unit. Hmm, you can also see that I really need to vacuum the carpet too!

Nice job, Charlie! I'm surprized at how much this changes the appearance of the cockpit, seems "slimmer" down there too.

Talking Thanks for the pics

So that is what a console delete is all about. I find the console very hnady though as a place to keep my cell phone and iPod. Plus I like having the CD holder there. Oh well, I guess we all have our own reasons for doing things to our cars. Looks kinda bare there IMO though with it gone.

I'm going to have to find a solution for the cell phone issue. I'm thinking of mounting something to the underside of the upper console. CD's are no issue because I have one of those visor units which holds 10 CD's--and fits nicely between the passenger seat and the shifter console (not on the visor).

Check out this hack for a cell phone solution. This is on my list of pending changes for my car. The ash tray is a waste of space...

Thanks Don. My phone is too big and I actually use the ash tray for quarters. I'll have to get more creative I suppose.

The is the mysterious front trim piece

I finally got it in today. You can read the part number on the picture. It's just a simple snap-in for in front of the shifter.
